1. Looking for genuine friends/drinking & smoking buddies; if something more is going to happen, it wil l just happen--so looking for more than friendship seems pointless to me. I'm single and very lonely at the moment, but no real time for a serious relationship until I finish the liberal-arts Ph.D. I'm finishing. Please don't let the degree throw you if you're not the college type--most of the people I respect and admire most never spent a day in college. I don't like being buried by academia anyway. I don't have any special skills, but I occasionally volunteer at a buddy's construction outfit when I have spare time because I actually like the chance to jump in and get dirty getting stuff done. Spent several years as an anchor rigger in the Gulf of Mexico before grad school, so I know what it's like to do more than dabble.
